Când a apărut Widget Bucks eu am fost foarte curios, părea ceva nou, ceva care să prindă la marele public.. aşa şi a fost. Un serviciu de payper click cu valori avantajoase ($0.25 media de-nteceput pe click) cu reclame ce arata bine.. ideal, nu? Ei bine a fost pentru ceva timp.

Au început discuţiile: prima legată de reclame, se încărcau prea greu şi WidgetBucks au recunoscut-o, au rezolvat problema. Apoi alte discuţii legate de neplata unor publisheri, discuţii destul de aprinse.. şi ca totul să fie ok WidgetBucks a anunţat că nu se mai contorizează clickurile ce provin de la utilizatori Non-USA/Canada.. A fost nasol pentru publisheri europeni.

Lucrurile au început să se mişte: publisheri au început să primească banii îndatoraţi, rata clickurilor a crescut puţintel (pentru că după cei $0.25 de la început s-a ajuns la $0.05) şi s-au trimis şi mailuri userilor:

As mentioned in our email at the end of November, today we have successfully launched International CPM ads to be included in our Widgets.

We are now serving CPM ads to the non-U.S./Canada traffic. This will give you revenue, per impression, for your site visitors who come from other countries. This is designed to help publishers who have a blend of traffic from a variety of countries.

Our system will do the geo-location for you, determining where the visitor is coming from. Then we’ll either show the regular pay-per-click widget (to visitors from the U.S. and Canada) or show an ad that pays per impression (to visitors from other countries).

To get started, you will need to log into your WidgetBucks account and re-copy the Widget code under “My Widgets”. After you replace the code on your site, the widget will update ad types automatically.=
